As long as there are light bulbs, there are so many and their main problem is that they burn out quickly. It seems that progress gave us economical fluorescent bulbs, and then LED bulbs went for every taste and wallet, but the problem only got worse. If earlier your incandescent light bulb burned out for 10 rubles, now the LED light bulb burns out for 500-600 rubles. Progress in robbing buyers is evident.

Therefore, where the light turns on for a short time, I do not put expensive LED-saving minuscule, but they burn out just as often. The locker room, closet, toilet, corridor on the floor are still illuminated by incandescent bulbs, but they are turned on through a primitive protection, which is known to many since Soviet times.

There was a wise old saying: "If the bulbs do not burn out, the business of the" light bulb manufacturers "will" burn out. " This aphorism did not appear out of nowhere - it was the manufacturers of light bulbs that were first caught in deliberately reducing the service life.

The first proven fact of collusion of manufacturers is Phobos cartel 1924 year. It was organized by the largest companies Osram, Philips, General Electric bringing together all the leading manufacturers of light bulbs. The cartel ordered all manufacturers to reduce the life of a light bulb from 2,500 hours to 1,000 hours. For violation of the conspiracy - large fines in favor of the members of the cartel.

The plan worked and sales of light bulbs increased worldwide, bringing in good income for the cartel members. The conspiracy was revealed only in 1942 and the cartel was dispersed, but this did not increase the life of the bulbs.

Incandescent bulbs usually burn out when they are turned on. The filament is cold, the resistance is almost 10 times lower, and at the moment of switching on, a sharp increase in current occurs and the filament burns out. You can protect yourself from this by putting soft start block

The electronic circuit of this unit, when turned on, raises the voltage on the light bulb not immediately, but with a delay of 2-3 seconds. It would seem who will be saved by these couple of seconds, but in practice this is enough. so that the lamp thread has time to heat up before the voltage rises to 220 volts.

Another good light bulb rescue device is a dimmer or dimmer.

In our youth, there were no such devices in stores and we used other tricks.

There is a more interesting circuit that allows you to use the bulb at full brightness, but in this case, a double switch is used.

The left switch is everyday (half-burned), and when you turn on the right one, the lamp starts to shine at full brightness. Just wait 5 seconds before turning on full brightness.

There was one more trick: two incandescent bulbs were switched on in series. The power of the lamps is different, for example, 40 and 150 watts. Naturally, the most voltage will be on a 40-watt light bulb and it will burn brightly. There is little voltage left on a powerful lamp and it serves as a ballast - in case of voltage surges, it takes the extra part on itself.

This solution is effective, but inconvenient: you need to place a ballast light somewhere.

The costs of such protection are minuscule and, most importantly, you will forget when the last time you bought a light bulb to replace a burned out one.
