Why do all furniture makers recommend placing sockets at the bottom of the floor? Didn't listen and did it my own way

It so happened that I work closely with manufacturers of custom-made furniture, in particular, kitchens. If you ask about connecting equipment to power grids, then they all say in unison that we put the sockets at the very bottom at the level of the base. So it is easier to conduct the wiring and there is always access to the outlet.

Every time I argue with the "kitchen workers" that this is completely unacceptable and simply inconvenient for the end user. To connect / disconnect the stove or dishwasher, you need to lie on the floor, feel the plug and touch it to the outlet.

Convenience here is only for furniture installers, you can build up the power cable without shtrobing, tie the socket and hide all this economy at the bottom of the kitchen behind the plinth.

Connecting my kitchen

I planned and connected my kitchen according to the electrical diagram myself. I just made a socket for the stove in the next (left) cabinet. A pair of outlets does not spoil the aesthetics at all, since they are not at all visible behind the door and kitchen accessories.

The oven stands next to the hob, so I decided to connect it also from the stove outlet. To do this, I put a regular outlet below and simply powered it from the power outlet of the hob. There are no overloads here and all connections are at hand. The electric hob is a smart enough device and it has to be rebooted from time to time by disconnecting it from the power supply.

And I also organized the connection of the dishwasher in the next cabinet - under the sink. This decision worked in my favor, and a little later, I connect a small water heater to the same outlet to survive the summer shutdown of hot water.

The sockets in the kitchen, their number and location must be carefully planned and calculated. You need to imagine where the household appliances will be and what kind. And make sockets where it will be convenient, fast, and most importantly, safe to connect or disconnect this technique.

In total, 19 sockets (connections) are installed in my kitchen. About the number of outlets in the kitchen, I wrote an article earlier in this article.
