I'm tired of going down into the pit by jumping and therefore I'm showing you how you can make the simplest ladder from a profile pipe with your own hands!
Metal prices are sky-high now, so we will use what we have from the leftovers. And from the remnants there is just one six-meter profile pipe 40 * 20. By the way, write what metal prices are in your region, it will be interesting to read.
The pit is one and a half meters deep, so I will make the stairs the same. We put it at an angle and it will be just wonderful. Accordingly, we measure one and a half meters from the professional pipe and put a mark.
To make the cuts even, I used a cutting machine based on angle grinders. There will be two such segments of one and a half meters.
For the steps, cut off four pieces of 45 centimeters.
That's all the ladder blanks that will be needed.
Since the metal has been lying on the street for a long time, a lot of rust has formed on it, which needs to be removed. To do this, I clean all the segments with a coral disc.
To weld everything smoothly, I use magnets and a corner. As you can see from the photo, everything turns out clearly!
And now the most favorite process is to weld everything into a single structure.
To protect the metal from corrosion, we paint everything with hammer paint, it is less prone to abrasion.
As soon as the paint has dried, we try on the stairs to the pit. All perfectly! The only thing is to install plastic plugs in the pipes, but I have not had time to buy them yet.
The ladder is very rigid, rests against the concrete floor and does not slip.
The stairs are very convenient to use!
And given the fact that the ladder is light and compact, it can be used for other purposes.
You can watch the whole process of making a ladder for an inspection pit in my video below:
